Student wellbeing is a precondition for academic success When students feel well, they learn better.
What is Pomelo?
Pomelo is a digital tool that helps schools work in a structured and systematic way with student wellbeing.
How is Pomelo used?
With Pomelo, schools work in an organised and systematic way to promote student wellbeing. They do this by:
-
Increasing student influence
Pomelo gives students the chance to share their views on the educational and social activities in the class. The teacher gets immediate feedback on how the students experienced the activity. -
Nurturing the learning environment
Based on the students' experiences, the teacher receives tips and strategies for developing a positive learning environment. -
Training students' socio-emotional skills
With concrete, easy-to-use exercises, the class trains skills that matter for school life. These skills – sometimes called soft skills – include, among other things, being able to keep working even when motivation dips, coping with performance stress, and building good peer relationships. They contribute not only to greater wellbeing but are also important for academic success. The exercises are tailored to the students' age and are developed separately for the lower, middle and upper stages of compulsory school.
Why Pomelo?
Based on empirical research
Pomelo is built on research into how schools can work both preventively and remedially to strengthen students' sustainable wellbeing.
Strengthening the teacher's leading role
Pomelo is a tool that helps teachers lead their students' socio-emotional development as an integrated part of everyday teaching. Instead of placing the responsibility on external consultants, Pomelo strengthens the relationship between teachers and students and reinforces the teacher's role as the leader of the class.
Co-created with schools
Pomelo has been developed together with students, teachers, head teachers and IT staff from schools across the country. That makes the tool easy to use and well suited to how schools work.
The highest standards of data security
Pomelo is designed to protect users' personal data and privacy, both with regard to GDPR and secure data handling. The entire environment is delivered from Swedish data centres owned by Swedish companies. We have clear procedures for storage, access and protection.
Most of the information in the help centre is only for our customers and requires a login, but you can read about how we work with GDPR and you can view our Release Notes without being logged in.
